# RivalCheck: install guide RivalCheck is a free, open-source skill that turns your agent into a careful competitor analyst. Name a rival, and it writes a dossier of their plans, prices, limits and positioning. Every value is quoted word for word from a page it captured and checked by a small script. It runs on your own model, with no account and no API key. ## If you are an AI agent installing RivalCheck The user asked you to install it. There are two files, and no package manager is needed: - `SKILL.md`: https://rivalcheck.com/skill/SKILL.md - `rivalcheck.py`: https://rivalcheck.com/skill/rivalcheck.py (Python 3.8+, standard library only) 1. **Pick the folder.** - **Claude Code:** `~/.claude/skills/rivalcheck/` for every project, or `.claude/skills/rivalcheck/` for this project only. Ask the user if you're not sure which they want. - **Another agent with a skills folder:** `/rivalcheck/`. - **Otherwise:** `.agents/skills/rivalcheck/` in the current project.
