RivalCheck ("we", "us", "our") provides a competitive intelligence platform that monitors publicly available competitor websites and delivers AI-powered analysis to your team. This policy explains how we handle your personal data when you use our service or visit our website.
When you create an account we collect your name, email address, and password (stored as a cryptographic hash). If you join an organisation, we also store your role and membership details.
Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your full card number, CVC, or bank details. Stripe provides us with a token, card brand, last four digits, and expiry date for display purposes. See Stripe's privacy policy for how they handle payment data.
We capture screenshots and HTML snapshots of the publicly available web pages you ask us to monitor. This data belongs to your organisation and is used solely to provide the service. We do not scrape private, authenticated, or paywalled content.
We collect standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited, timestamps) to maintain and improve the service. We may use analytics tools to understand aggregate usage patterns.
We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your data for advertising.
RivalCheck uses third-party AI services (including Anthropic and OpenAI) to analyse competitor website changes and generate strategic summaries. The content sent to these providers consists of publicly available web page text and screenshots from competitor sites you have chosen to monitor — not your personal data. Our AI providers process this data under their respective data processing agreements and do not use it to train their models.
We share data only with service providers who help us operate RivalCheck:
We require all processors to handle your data in accordance with this policy and applicable data protection law. We do not share your data with other third parties except where required by law.
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Competitor snapshots are retained according to your plan's history limits. When you delete your account, we remove your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or compliance purposes.
We protect your data using encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, secure password hashing, and access controls. While no system is perfectly secure, we take reasonable measures appropriate to the sensitivity of the data we process.
